Xbox raises console prices as storage and memory costs spike

Microsoft said Xbox console prices rise worldwide on August 1, 2026, by $100 on 512 GB models and $150 on 1 TB models, while sunsetting the 2 TB SKU.

In a June 25, 2026 Xbox Wire post, Microsoft said Xbox console prices would update worldwide on August 1, 2026. The company cited storage and memory prices that had already risen more than 2.5x, with another doubling possible by fall 2027.

The new numbers

Microsoft said prices rise by US$100 for 512 GB models and US$150 for 1 TB models, and that the 2 TB model would be sunset. The post also reminded readers that consoles are typically sold for less than they cost to make, which makes component spikes especially painful.

Relief valves

Xbox pointed players toward Buy Now Pay Later, interest-free financing partners, previously played retail programs, and certified refurbished consoles with discounts up to US$100. Series S remains the stated lowest-cost entry into the current Xbox catalog.
