Newzoo says GTA 6 opened the strongest pre-order campaign on record
Market researcher Newzoo estimates about $180 million in digital pre-order sales across the US and five large European markets in GTA 6's first week, with launch-week revenue projections in the multi-billion range.
Analyst firm Newzoo published one of the clearest early reads on Grand Theft Auto VI demand. In the first week of pre-orders, the firm estimates roughly $180 million in digital sales across the United States plus the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain.
What the projection band means
Using historical pre-order curves, Newzoo puts GTA VI on pace for about $3.3 billion to $5.2 billion in cumulative global sales by the end of launch week. The firm also pushed back on viral claims of a billion dollars in the first hour, calling those figures unrealistic based on its dataset.
Player takeaway
Strong pre-orders do not guarantee a smooth launch. They do explain why storefronts will treat November like a stress test, and why digital installs and server capacity will matter as much as the trailer count.
