What is new
Official materials pitch rebuilt visuals and audio, cross-play co-op for up to four players, dozens of Skulls, a Campaign Remix mode, and three additional prequel missions set before the original story. This is a from-scratch remake, not another Anniversary-style filter over old assets.
Why the PS5 date matters
Halo's campaign finally reaching PlayStation is a franchise first and a clean example of Xbox's multiplatform push. On Xbox, the base game landed in Game Pass on launch day, which lowers the barrier for anyone who wants to revisit Installation 04 without buying another full-price remake.
