Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced clears 3 million in a week

Ubisoft's Vantage Studios said the July 9 remake sold more than 3 million copies in its first week, after a 2 million day-one start and improving Steam reviews.

On July 17, 2026, Ubisoft's Vantage Studios said Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced had sold more than 3 million copies in a week. The remake launched July 9 and opened with about 2 million copies on day one.

What players are responding to

Led by Ubisoft Singapore and rebuilt on a modern Anvil build, Resynced updates the 2013 pirate classic with new visuals, parry-driven combat, deeper naval play, and fresh narrative beats. Ubisoft also pointed to quality-of-life patches and a planned New Game+ mode after Steam sentiment climbed toward Very Positive.

Remake economy signal

A beloved open-world remake can still print numbers in a year full of layoffs and price hikes. Black Flag's brand recognition did a lot of the marketing work before trailers ever dropped.
